The Agave Stone Ethos

Building the Outdoor Legacy

I grew up in Houston, Texas. Son of immigrants. Both my parents, they came to this country with nothing. Zero dollars. They were just teenagers. And they built a life from scratch, right here in front of me.
That teaches you something early. If you want something, you work for it. You don't wait. You don't make excuses. You just go and you do it. That’s the foundation. But for a long time, I tried to build my life on someone else's foundation.
The Script-
I followed what they told me to do. Good grades. Go to college. Get your bachelor's degree. Get the corporate job. That was the promise, right? Do these things and you're gonna be successful. But the job market, it didn't care about the script.
I ended up in operations, managing people in corporate America. Long hours, man. No work-life balance. I'm looking up one day and I realize — I'm building somebody else's dream. Not my own.
Then the layoffs came. Budget cuts. Economic problems. I was one of the newer managers so I was one of the first to go. But that was the wake-up call I needed, you know?
The Pivot-
Around that time, my buddy Jose, he was building something of his own: an custom pools and outdoor living spaces. Seeing him create his own path, man, that inspired me. That’s what I needed to see.
When he asked me to come help him project manage the jobs, I said yes. And that's when it clicked for me.
Working on those job sites, I started to see the gap. People, they want beautiful pools and patios, yeah. But there's something else, you know? The outdoor kitchen. That's where people actually gather. That's were family cooks together. That's where the whole culture of barbecue and grilling, it comes alive.
That’s the moment Agave Stone was born, specializing in the whole outdoor space—from kitchens and fire features to stone pavements.
The Moment, It Got Me-
Before all this, I never cared about propane, gas, charcoal—none of that. I didn't understand passion behind grilling and bbq.
Until I did it myself.
I got a ceramic smoker, and I used real apple wood. The first time I smelled that smoke coming off the wood, man, everything changed. Then I tasted the meat. The difference was crazy. The flavor, the depth, everything the wood brought to it.
That moment, it taught me something. This isn't just about grilling. It's about respecting the craft. It’s about understanding that every choice matters—what wood you use, or what seasonings you select. That's when I became a believer. That's when I understood why people are so passionate about this. Why they care so much.
Agave Stone-
The name, it means something to me. The agave plant, it thrives in tough conditions. It's resilient. It's beautiful. And it belongs here in Texas.
That's what I'm building — outdoor spaces that are built tough, designed for Houston's climate, rooted in the culture of this place. We transform your backyard with timeless outdoor kitchens built for Texas weather.
I'm not the expert on everything. But I listen. I care about getting it right. And I believe your backyard should be as important as your living room. It should be intentional. It should be beautiful. And it should bring people together.
That's Agave Stone. That's why I'm here.
